オンライン会話プロジェクト

コロナの影響で、オンラインでのやり取りに抵抗がなくなった方もたくさんいらっしゃるかと思います。

プロジェクトが形になるまで

この2月に、当校にロシア人の講師から連絡がありました。ユリアさんという方で彼女は世界中にいる英語学習者を繋げたいと思っていました。彼女は生徒たちがレッスン外で英語を話せる機会を作りたいと考えていました。それによって、生徒たちが英語を話す自信をつけ、流暢さを伸ばす機会にもなると思ったからです。

既にメキシコやイスラエル、ロシアのスクールがこのプロジェクトに参加しています。

コースについて　ビデオでのイントロダクション

このプログラムはフェイスブックのプライベートグループを使用して行います。講師がタスクを決め、パートナーを決めます。生徒たちはパートナーと話す時間を自由に決められます。ただ、あくまでもこのプログラムは話す機会を増やすことが目的であるためフィードバックやミスの訂正はありません。

Here are the key organisational features of the course:

• a private hidden Facebook group
• up to 10 people in a group
• B1+ level of participants
• each participant gets randomly matched with another participant for task work
• new match every week
• 4-week duration in total
• 2 tasks per week, 8 tasks per course
• 1 meeting at the beginning, 1 additional group meeting per week to train task format and practice together, 5 group meeting total
• flexible timing: participants message each other and set the time they want to call each other to do the task at the time that suits them
• unlimited communication and practice in chat: apart from doing the task they can always chat and practice additionally, with any member of the group
• follow up courses in a similar format with different tasks are being made at the moment

No grammar, no error correction

Only fluency, confidence and vocabulary boost

Task format:

1. watch one video and write out phrases
2. watch another video and learn phrases in a vocabulary app
3. call assigned a partner and discuss a question about the videos using new phrases, video record the conversation
4. upload the record of the conversation into the group
5. watch each other’s videos, like, comment, ask each other questions

Professional topics such as Distributed work, building connection with coworkers, managing emotions at work, giving feedback, pro and con of romantic relationship at work, etc
