UKPLUS NEWS WK13:大阪府立大のアカデミック英語コースを担当！
2019年4月12日4月に入り大学もコースが本格的に始まっていますが
今年からUKPLUS Osakaの校長であるTony Bが大阪府立大学のアカデミック英語コースを担当しております。
今回のブログではTony Bにコースについてインタビューしました。

1) What course are you teaching?
どんなコースを教えていますか？
Academic Writing and Presentation skills.
Students will work collaboratively to produce a written essay and then make an oral presentation of their work. I am teaching second-year students.
アカデミックライティングとプレゼンテーションのスキルです。
それぞれグループでエッセイを作成し、その後各自が口頭でのプレゼンテーションをします。今回受け持つのは2回生です。
2) How big is the class and how many lessons are you teaching?
クラスの規模はどのくらいですか？また、何クラス受け持ちますか？
The classes have between 20 and 30 students.
I am teaching three Koma on Tuesdays starting at 9am and finishing at 2.25. There are two semesters of 16 weeks and the first one ends at the end of July.
一クラスにおおよそ20～30名の生徒が所属しています。
大学では火曜日の朝9時から3コマ担当しており、午後2:25分に終了します。前期、後期それぞれ16週間あり前期は7月末に終了します。
3) Which department are students in?
クラス参加者は何学部に所属していますか？
At Fudai there are a large number of science-majors. My students come from Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Management Studies.
大阪府立大学は数多くの理系の学部があります。私が担当しているクラスには理工学部、化学工学、マネージメントなどの生徒が参加しています。
4) What level are the students attending the course?
学生の英語レベルはどれくらいですか？
In terms of English ability the levels of the students vary from A1 or 2 up to a few at B2 level. Their receptive skills are generally higher than their productive ones.
英語能力としてはA1－A2レベル大半でB2レベルの生徒が少数います。彼らのインプット（リスニングやリーディング）はアウトプット技能より強い生徒が多いです。
5) What do you think of the classes after the first lessons?
初回のレッスンが終わって、どうでしたか？
The students are generally very motivated – they should be, they have worked hard to get into a public university.
They seem a very normal bunch of young Japanese people – 90% boys.
The campus in clean and nice and the classrooms are quite large.
The Japanese support staff are very helpful and friendly and the other teachers are very supportive and professional.
公立の大学に入るため努力してきた生徒たちの大半はとてもやる気にあふれています。
約90％が男子生徒で、普通の日本人の学生たちです。
大学構内はとてもきれいで教室も広いです。
日本人のスタッフもとても友好的でサポートしてくれます。また、他の講師陣もとてもプロフェッショナルで面倒見がいい人たちばかりです。
6) How will the experience you gain through this work benefit UKPLUS and its students?
今回Tonyがこの仕事から得る経験はUKPLUS Osakaや生徒にとってどうプラスになると思いますか？
UKPLUS has a lot of students from this age group and so it will give me a good insight into the kind of environment that they are studying English in at University.

まったりお花見
先週の日曜日はスクールのお花見。
今年はまったりしたお花見！Tony Wが手作りのスコーンを手土産にくれました笑
お花見としては最高の天気！
エッグハンティング、今回はかなり難易度が高かったです。
今年も楽しいお花見となりました。
次回のイベントはハイキング！
5月のゴールデンウィークにハイキングに行きます。
