How is UKPLUS Osaka different?
We’re NOT an 英会話 school, we’re a professional British English language school.
Our three-hour fun lessons seem much, much shorter. Some students even take two or three three-hour lessons per week!
In every lesson, students develop four language skills and more, such as pronunciation and grammar.
We are a Cambridge and OET exam centre and IELTS preparation centre and our teachers are qualified speaking and writing examiners.
In total, our Cambridge-qualified teachers have over 150 years of Japan-based experience.
UKPLUS students who have previously studied abroad says the UKPLUS Osaka school strongly reminds them of an overseas English language school, not the usual Japanese-style英会話.

Our goal at UKPLUS Osaka is simple. We work hard - with a smile - to help people of all ages and backgrounds improve or change their lives through English. That is, a better life with English.
Everything we do starts with an honest and professional assessment of your English language ability. This assessment is based on all four skills, and more. Following this comprehensive diagnosis of your English strengths and weaknesses, we plan a detailed pathway to your goal.

History
UKPLUS Osaka was founded in October 2010.
We are a Cambridge Exam & Preparation Centre and the only Occupational English Test (OET) Centre in Japan.
Since our foundation, we have helped well over 2000 students improve or change their lives through English. Over 95% of our customers have achieved their goals through studying English in our school.

UKPLUS Osaka is conveniently located next to Grand Front Osaka, just a few minutes' walk from JR Osaka Station and Hankyu Umeda Station. It's a safe and comfortable learning environment.
From the moment you open the classroom door, we strive to create a space where you can feel happy and relaxed.
The first thing you'll see is the reception desk. Our staff will greet you with a smile and be happy to answer any questions you may have. The common area is stocked with books, magazines, and study materials. There's also an area where you can relax and chat with classmates, friends, staff, and teachers. Two large orange sofas with comfortable cushions add a touch of elegance to the space.
Green plants are scattered throughout the school, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the greenery of the park across the street and Grand Front Osaka beyond. This park, reminiscent of a quintessential London square, was one of the reasons we chose to establish our school here.

Teachers
Between them, our small team of eight teachers have over 150 years teaching experience in Japan. In addition to all this experience, our teachers are all highly-qualified. UKPLUS Osaka teachers are Cambridge Delta-qualified and often looking for further professional development opportunities.
Our teachers are Cambridge & IELTS speaking examiners and OET interlocutors. In the past, our teachers were also qualified BULATS examiners. In addition, our teachers have working knowledge of many other exams and their requirements: iBT TOEFL, TOEIC, Eiken, ELTIS, SAT for example.
Our teachers are skilled in designing, preparing and delivering tailor-made courses for offsite customers in universities, colleges and various types of businesses.
Need more flexibility? UKPLUS teachers also have the required skills to comfortably take your learning online via various platforms.
Customer Service Staff (CSS)
Our customer service staff are hugely knowledgeable about our teaching practice. They care deeply about you and your goals. They are also patient, sympathetic listeners. They will listen carefully to your needs. Then, in consultation with our professional and experienced teachers, best advise you on a course of study that gives you the best chance of success in achieving your goals.
Our CSS staff have studied abroad, they understand the process of applying for an overseas university. They understand the difficulties of living abroad. Our staff have also taken recognized courses as study abroad counsellors. They absolutely know what they are talking about.
If you require the extra personal touch, our staff are also experienced in making offsite visits. They are comfortable making presentations to government organisations, educational organisations, schools and businesses. Talk to our staff today!
Onsite Lessons
Students in the school mostly choose either group lessons or 1:1 private lessons. Some students choose a combination of both.
These combinations are either packages or hybrid courses. Hybrid courses are for those students who cannot attend group lessons every week because of work or other commitments.
We also offer semi-private (two students) or closed group lessons. These classes are for people who want to study with friends / colleagues of a similar level and with the same goals.
COURSES
The variety of courses we offer is wide.
We welcome students of any age from 5 to 85.
GENERAL ENGLISH
Classes from Beginner (CEFRA0) to High Advanced (CEFRC2) run through the week Monday to Sunday.
EXAM PREPARATION CLASSES
There are weekly IELTS & Cambridge focused lessons at different levels.
We can offer tuition in OET / iBT TOEFL / TOEIC / Eiken and other exams on request.
ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES (EAP)
Academic Study Skills courses include: Taking Part in Seminars; Giving Presentations; Writing Personal Statements; Extended Listening and Note-taking; Academic Essay and Report Writing.
We also help with interview techniques with the overseas university you want to go to.
Proof-reading is another service which we offer. The cost is calculated on word count.
We have had much measurable and demonstrable success in these Academic areas over the years.
BUSINESS / ENGLISH FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES (ESP)
We regularly help business-minded clients with various real-life business skills. Such as, presentation skills; taking part in meetings; business communication (for example, email & report writing); telephone communication.
We also help with interview techniques to help you feel more confident about getting that dream job.
Online Lessons
Our senior teacher has a Masters in Educational Technology and understands deeply how successful learning can take place in an online environment. Our team of motivated teachers have for several years shown that they have the ability to prepare and deliver quality lessons in an online environment.
We offer both 1:1 and closed group online lessons. We offer both synchronous and asynchronous opportunities for learning. And we offer a combination of both.
We can also offer level checks and IELTS Mock tests at a distance at times to suit you, or your team.
